RPM

So I guess I'm in a band.
I played a gig on the 12th with RPM.
They seem to like my playing.
It is a little strange to "join" a band.
Everyone knows each other.
I had met two members prior to my first rehearsal.
Hannah was in marching band in high school with me in 1994.
Rich sat at the same table as me at the Gideons's recruitment dinner.
More strange dynamics:
The age difference between the group's youngest member and it's oldest member is 25 Years.
Make that closer to 30 years if you count "G.R.I.M."
"G.R.I.M." is not technically in the band, but performs with the band.
"G.R.I.M." is a freestyle rapper.
The electric guitarist went to school with my brother Michael.
There are 3 siblings in the band.
One of the members goes by "Matt" or "Matthew"
The band has its own sound guy.
The sound guy has many tens of thousands of dollars worth of sound equipment, and the subsequent knowledge to accompany it.
The band currently performs a mix of originals, covers and praise songs.

I'm really having a pretty good time so far.

Readin' With Anna And A New Hope for Affordable Irrigation

1 Cor. 15 54-55

Today was Laura Kleysteuber's funeral.
It is strange to me how much her death has affected me.
Beyond seeing someone so young suffer so much.
Beyond knowing that two little boys will never see their mother again.

John is arguably my only peer, professionally speaking. It is scary to see my worst nightmare lived out in front of me.

But I also feel like I lost a future friend.

Anna and Colin will most certainly be in the same class, school, 4H club.
And I like to think we would have all become friends.

Pray for John, Cooper and Colin.

This is all I could see for about ten minutes after the power went out in the auditorium right before showtime. And this is all I could see for about five minutes after the power came back on (apparently while I was looking directly at my stand light)

Apparently we need to chi9ld proof Anna's pajamas. Now that she has this figured out I don't know how we will manage to keep her clothed.

More Pics.

This is the slush pit they dug in preparation for drilling our new gas well. You can really see the difference between the topsoil (piled on the left) and the subsoil (piled on the right.)
Canada Geese
Remind you of anyone?
I got stuck behind the paint truck on my way to Reeves's. The sign says "WET PAINT DO NOT PASS". I am very impressed with how well the bugs on my windshield are focused, though. Posted by Picasa
